In an attempt to carve out some creative work time each week, and to keep the momentum rolling while I deal with the less-creative side of my job, I have decided to try a bit of an experiment.
I have found, that perhaps the hardest part of being a self employed and self published author with lots of projects going at once, is actually finding the time to write new things. To practice my craft and work out the less marketable ideas, so to speak. The original writing for a project is fun (though sometimes a grueling and frustrating fun), and I commit each day to doing it, while I am doing it. But once I get to the editing/polishing and layout phase of a project, my time to write vanishes. I have to get the stuff I have already written ready to print, and I cannot get distracted working on new stuff.
I have this blog, clearly, and in many ways I am under utilizing its potential. So starting next week, I will be striving to post a bit of short fiction every other week. Right now this will take the form of an ongoing series I have decided to explore, but I am putting no restraints on where these bi-weekly posts will go, or what they will contain. Only that they must be fiction in some form. Fiction, free for the reading. Worked on, but mostly unedited, that may or may not become something bigger.
Please, tune in and enjoy.
